AWS SAP-C02 Exam Scenarios
This is where preparation meets practice.
SAP-C02 doesn’t test whether you’ve memorized service features. It tests whether you can evaluate architectural tradeoffs, identify constraints, and select the best solution from plausible alternatives—all under time pressure.
These scenarios are designed to build that skill.
What’s Available #
Current: 80+ scenarios across all SAP-C02 domains Planned: 500+ scenarios (rolling release throughout 2026)
Every scenario is:
- Written at SAP-C02 difficulty level (not associate-level questions relabeled)
- Mapped to specific topics and pillars
- Accompanied by detailed explanations of why each answer is correct or incorrect
New scenarios are added weekly, prioritized by exam weight and user feedback.
How These Scenarios Are Different #
They Test Decisions, Not Recall #
SAP-C02 questions present situations where multiple services could work. The question is which one is best given specific constraints.
Our scenarios mirror this pattern:
A financial services company needs to replicate transaction data across three AWS regions with sub-second consistency. The compliance team requires that all data remain encrypted and that encryption keys never leave their primary region. Which approach meets these requirements?
All four options might technically work. The correct answer depends on understanding the interaction between global replication, encryption, and key management—not just knowing what each service does.
They Explain the Reasoning #
Each scenario includes:
| Section | What It Covers |
|---|---|
| Correct Answer | Why this option best satisfies all constraints |
| Why Others Are Wrong | Specific reasons each alternative fails |
| Pillar Reference | Links to deeper coverage of the underlying concepts |
| Archetype Connection | Which enterprise pattern this scenario represents |
| Exam Strategy | How to recognize similar questions quickly |
The goal isn’t just to know the answer—it’s to understand the decision pattern so you recognize it in different forms.
They Cover Real Exam Distribution #
Scenarios are distributed across domains based on actual SAP-C02 exam weighting:
| Domain Area | Approximate Weight | Scenario Coverage |
|---|---|---|
| Design for Organizational Complexity | 26% | Governance, multi-account, compliance |
| Design for New Solutions | 29% | Architecture patterns, service selection |
| Continuous Improvement | 25% | Cost optimization, performance, operations |
| Accelerate Workload Migration | 20% | Migration strategies, hybrid connectivity |
This distribution ensures your practice time aligns with exam emphasis.

How to Use These Scenarios #
For Targeted Practice #
- Identify weak domains from practice test results or self-assessment
- Study relevant pillars to understand the decision logic
- Work through domain scenarios to apply that logic
- Review explanations even for questions you got right
For Timed Practice #
- Select 15-20 scenarios across multiple domains
- Set a timer (average 2-3 minutes per question)
- Answer without looking at explanations
- Review all explanations after completing the set
For Deep Learning #
- Read the scenario and all options before answering
- Identify the primary constraint driving the decision
- Eliminate options based on specific disqualifying factors
- Compare remaining options on secondary criteria
- Read the full explanation regardless of whether you were correct
The explanation often reveals decision patterns that apply to many questions, not just the one you practiced.
Scenario Difficulty Levels #
Scenarios are tagged by complexity to help you calibrate your preparation:
| Level | Characteristics | When to Practice |
|---|---|---|
| Standard | Single domain, clear constraints, one obvious disqualifier | Early preparation, confidence building |
| Complex | Multiple domains, competing constraints, subtle distinctions | Mid-preparation, pattern recognition |
| Advanced | Cross-domain tradeoffs, no perfect answer, requires prioritization | Late preparation, exam simulation |
SAP-C02 includes all three levels. Most questions are Complex; approximately 20% are Advanced.
Free Access Policy #

Continue Your Preparation #
Understand the Decision Logic #
When scenario explanations reference concepts you don’t fully understand, pillars provide comprehensive coverage. Each pillar explains not just what to choose, but why and when.
See Complete Architecture Patterns #
Scenarios test individual decisions. Archetypes show how those decisions combine into complete enterprise architectures. Understanding archetypes helps you recognize the broader context of scenario questions.
Organize by Problem Topics #
Categories group scenarios by architectural topics. Use them to focus practice on specific areas or to see how different scenarios within a topic relate to each other.
Scenario Development Roadmap #
| Phase | Timeline | Content |
|---|---|---|
| Current | Now | 80+ scenarios, all domains covered |
| Phase 2 | Q1 2026 | 200+ scenarios, advanced difficulty expansion |
| Phase 3 | Q2 2026 | 500+ scenarios, full exam simulation capability |
Scenario additions are prioritized based on:
